Naava WeinerNaava Weiner availability:
Sundays 10:30am-5:15pm Mon 3pm, 8:30-10pm I'm an Israeli who grew up in a clergy household, immersed in a Jewish way of life. I am fully fluent in Hebrew, both Modern and Biblical, and am more than familiar with Israeli and American Jewish culture. I delight in finding ways of engaging my students and helping them fall in love with their heritage. This past year has been a masterclass in digital teaching methods, and I tailor them to each student individually. Whether your student connects via online games, more structured learning, physical learning, videos, or more, I can provide just the right combination of learning experiences to get them where they need to go. In addition, I have experience working with students with special needs (dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder). As a neurodivergent person, I strongly feel about helping these students feel at home in their culture and community. Whatever their challenges, I will work with your student to ensure that your educational goals are met. |
Cantor Jeff WolkCantor Jeff Wolk availability:
Tuesdays 5pm Thursdays 5-6:30pm Shalom to all!
I have experience and enjoy teaching all ages, from Aleph-Bet to Bar/bat-mitzvah , as well as adults, and find nothing more satisfying than bringing the love of Judaism to a new generation, and watching them embrace their Jewish Roots. I am a guitarist and love all types of music from Jewish music to good old rock n roll. I am a sports enthusiast , really enjoying the Olympics now, and a big fan of all our NY sports teams. I am ready to hear a good joke, no matter how corny it may be. I have been a Cantor/educator for many years, as my father before me, and have been so very privileged in taking part in all of my congregations lifecycle events at Temple Beth-El of Rockaway NY. Being a Cantor, I feel it is my calling to not only 'lead' the congregation in prayer, but to help to educate and reveal the beauty of the Shabbat and Holidays through song, bringing a foundation that connects us all as one people. |
