Aviva BogartAviva Bogart availability:
Mon,Tues,Wed 4-7pm I am a Jewish educator that believes profoundly in the power of great education and community. I specialize in preparing B-Mitzvah students for their big day- both as an emotional support, but also technically, to make sure they’re prepared- we all know how scary that can be! So I’m there to hold their hand along the way and cultivate a rich relationship with their heritage that will last them a lifetime. |
Ben Fiedler
Availability: Sundays 10am-9pm Mon,Wed,Thurs 6:30-9pm Ben Fiedler (He/Him/His): I graduated from Binghamton University with a BA in Judaic Studies, and I more recently received my Masters in Jewish Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS). Throughout my educational career, I have worked with students of all ages, ranging from pre-k through high school and in a variety of settings: Jewish day school, synagogue religious school, and at both Camp Ramah New England and Ramah Sports Academy. An important aspect of my teaching philosophy is that I strive to get to know each student on a more personal level beyond simply a tutor-student relationship. I believe that a stronger connection can lead to a better educational experience for both student and tutor alike and allow for greater learning and growth. I look forward to working and learning with your student

Sundays 9:30am-7pm, 8:15pm Mon 4pm,6pm,7:30-9pm Tues,Thurs 4-9pm I'm an Israeli who grew up in a clergy household, immersed in a Jewish way of life. I am fully fluent in Hebrew, both Modern and Biblical, and am more than familiar with Israeli and American Jewish culture. I delight in finding ways of engaging my students and helping them fall in love with their heritage. This past year has been a masterclass in digital teaching methods, and I tailor them to each student individually. Whether your student connects via online games, more structured learning, physical learning, videos, or more, I can provide just the right combination of learning experiences to get them where they need to go. In addition, I have experience working with students with special needs (dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder). As a neurodivergent person, I strongly feel about helping these students feel at home in their culture and community. Whatever their challenges, I will work with your student to ensure that your educational goals are met. |
Cantor Jeff WolkCantor Jeff Wolk availability:
Mon-Thurs. 5-7pm Shalom to all!
I have experience and enjoy teaching all ages, from Aleph-Bet to Bar/bat-mitzvah , as well as adults, and find nothing more satisfying than bringing the love of Judaism to a new generation, and watching them embrace their Jewish Roots. I am a guitarist and love all types of music from Jewish music to good old rock n roll. I am a sports enthusiast , really enjoying the Olympics now, and a big fan of all our NY sports teams. I am ready to hear a good joke, no matter how corny it may be. I have been a Cantor/educator for many years, as my father before me, and have been so very privileged in taking part in all of my congregations lifecycle events at Temple Beth-El of Rockaway NY. Being a Cantor, I feel it is my calling to not only 'lead' the congregation in prayer, but to help to educate and reveal the beauty of the Shabbat and Holidays through song, bringing a foundation that connects us all as one people. |
